School of Health Sciences

The School of Health Sciences and Public Health gives an opportunity to deliver teaching and research process using innovative methods and a wide range of options applying modern medicine into practice. The School is a member of European Public Health Association (EUPHA) and represents Georgia. It is a member of American Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA) and discusses the progress outcomes at international forums annually.

Leading specialist of Georgian health care system contributed greatly to the formation of the Program of Health Care Administration, cooperating with the Universities of Central Florida and Scranton. The profession of a health care administrator is one of the most important and highly demanded professions for effective functioning of health care system at national and international levels. Health care manager/administrator, within his competence, leads and performs a specific job in the health care organizations, creates patient-oriented services, takes part in researches, works in Public institutions, executive and legislative authorities, and non-government organizations; at hospitals and specialized medical clinics, insurance and pharmaceutical companies, health care and other sectorial institutions. The students of Health Care Administration have practical courses and internships and make researches within the bachelor thesis. The graduates are awarded the bachelor qualification in management.


Single Cycle Medical Program

The goal of the Single-cycle Medical program in English is to coach competent, fair, experienced doctors, willing to broaden their knowledge constantly and gain new skills, ready to perform a function of a healer, a guardian, an educator, a scientist, a human rights defender, a leader etc., in order to promote health and well-being of local and global population. After finishing the study program, the student is certified with a qualification of an associate doctor. There are modern literature in English and their online versions, scientific articles provided in this program. The students have an opportunity to participate in scientific conferences, to publish their own research outcomes in UG journal  "Caucasus Journal of Health and Sciences and Public Health". International projects and Exchange programs of the School are available for the students. Practical training is provided by the best multipurpose clinics of Health system under supervision of qualified mentors.

Purpose of the Program

Medicine educational program aims to prepare competent, responsive, fair, medical professionals (doctors), who will have their own knowledge and skills renewal willing and capable to serve as a modern doctor's specific roles, such as medicine, curator, educator, scholar, human rights defenders He, and the leader of the other roles, in order to facilitate both local and global public health and welfare. After the completion of the educational program, the student will get a qualified diplomat's qualification, which will enable him to: Continue studying in Master's degree and / or doctoral studies in Georgia or abroad, or to undergo residency course and to obtain the right to independent medical practice after completing the relevant requirements; To work in Georgia as a junior doctor and to perform the doctor's functions with instructions and responsibilities of the medical practitioner with independent medical practice.
